U.S. Rep. Steve Womack spoke at the Beta Alpha Psi meeting March 2nd held in the Latture Conference Center located in the UAFS College of Business.
During the session, Womack discussed issues ranging from the national debt to Congressional budgeting procedures. He recently was appointed chairman of the House Budget Committee, which is responsible to prioritize government spending. He also chairs the Joint Select Committee on Budget and Appropriations Process Reform.
Beta Alpha Psi is The International Honor Organization for Financial Information Students and Professionals. The group seeks “to promote and recognize scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field”, according to the organizations COB webpage.
The group has approximately 25 student members and Dr. Julie Wright is the faculty advisor.
The club holds bi-monthly meetings featuring topics and speakers relevant to business professionals. Club president, Katalina Hurt, reached out to Congressman Womack’s office to invite him to speak to the group.
