College of Business faculty members Drs. Dan Settlage and Jim Wollscheid serve on the executive committee for the Arkansas College Teachers of Economics and Business (ACTEB) Association.
Settlage stated that the ACTEB is the “only research conference for business educators in the state of Arkansas.”
The association was formed in 1950 with the vision to “provide a local forum for the dissemination and collaboration of ideas on teaching, administration, and research in business and economics,” according to organization documents.
Settlage will serve as president-elect for the organization for 2020, which will also bring the annual conference to the UAFS campus.
He noted that the conference “will provide an outstanding opportunity for UAFS faculty to present their current research, learn from the research of others, and showcase the campus and people of UAFS to colleagues from across the state.”
The ACTEB conference is typically held the last Saturday of September. While the date has not yet been formally set by the committee, according to Dr. Settlage, the last Saturday would tentatively place the 2020 conference for September 27 on the UAFS campus.
